LUIS SANTOS “SAPO”
Luís Santos, also called Sapo, was born in Belem, Para, Brazil on January 2nd, 1980. He is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist, a 5 degree jiu jitsu black belt. He also carries a Muay-Thai and Judo black belt. He currently teaches and trains at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida. Before signing with Bellator, Santos was ranked #5 on the Bloody Elbow world MMA scouting report.
A veteran of over 81 victories inside the cage; Sapo has been fighting professionally for 18 years now, and he has lost less than 10 times. Luis Santos is one of the most dangerous men to ever grace a mixed martial arts arena. His thunderous power and stellar black belt level judo along with jiu jitsu is an example of what a true killer looks like.
Sapo made his name in the early cages of WEC and XFC, along with regional Brazilian organizations who would recruit him. He was a dangerous and crafty fighter in his early career, and he was a finisher to any novice in his path. The judo throws and blistering kicks of Sapo are incredible…
